Wednesday September 6 9:00am – 4:00pm – Wonderful Wednesdays Book Sales
Gently used books will be discounted by 50%. Paperbacks will be 25 cents, and hardback books will be 50 cents to $2.50.
Where: Longboat Library.
Saturday September 9 9:00am – 2:00pm – Cemetery Cleanup of the 1850 Manatee Burying Ground
The Florida Public Archaeology Network will lead a Cemetery Resource Protection Training (CRPT) workshop to teach volunteers how to help preserve historical cemeteries. This training session will include a hands-on clean up of the 1850 Manatee Burying Grounds located across the street from Manatee Village Historical Park.
This event will involve working outside. Hat, sunglasses, close toed shoes, and lightweight clothing are recommended. This is a free event. There will be an hour lunch break, but food is not included. Please pack a brown bag lunch.

Sunday September 10 – Fins, Flippers, and Friends: 5th Annual Fundraiser for Sea to Shore Alliance!
Spend a glorious afternoon sipping delicious drinks and nibbling hors d’oeuvres as you mingle with Sea to Shore Alliance scientists and friends at the Sarasota Sailing Squadron. Enjoy live music and breathtaking views as you bid on unique trips, prizes, and items at the silent auction. Guests will also enjoy a presentation by world renowned dolphin expert, Dr. Randall Wells, Director of the Sarasota Dolphin Research Program, who will tell us about his 30+ years of studying dolphins of Sarasota Bay and around the world.
